George Kittle and More Week 7 Tight End Breakouts for Fantasy Football

It’s the week before Tight End Week … Tight End Week Eve, if you will.

And I cannot stop thinking about the truly epic TE Eve performance put on from FOUR different TEs on TNF:

TE Pat Freiermuth: 5-111-2
TE Noah Fant: 4-44-1
TE Jonnu Smith: 3-28-1
TE Darnell Washington: 3-2-1

If one game alone can give us that much juicy action from the position, what else might be in store for Week 7?

TE Harold Fannin Jr.

Just as David Njoku (6-67-1) and Dillon Gabriel were starting to click in Week 5, injury struck in Week 6. And now, Njoku has been officially ruled out for Week 7.

Not only is Harold Fannin Jr. the “next man up,” but he’s facing a Miami defense that is allowing the sixth most yards to TEs (66.7) and the seventh most fantasy points per game (15.7).

Sure, the 60 mph wind gusts and rain might not scream “Fannin Breakout Game”… But a girl can dream, can’t she?

TE George Kittle

We’ve only been graced with 4 catches and a TD from Kittle so far this season due to his fully torn hamstring. (Yeah, you read that correctly.)

But like any veteran with a wicked wound, Kittle’s been cautious in his return. He’s no decoy!! In fact, Kittle reported that he took extra time to heal. That’s right, folks. His fully-torn hammy is fully recovered!

Unfortunately, the Falcons defense is allowing only 4.8 FPPG (fewest in the NFL) to the TE position this season. But it’s George f*ckin’ Kittle we’re talking ‘bout here. What are you gonna do? Bench him?

TE … Ja’Tavion Sanders?

If TNF taught us anything, it’s that any TE can score at any time—regardless of depth charts, predictions and rankings.

And if the fantasy gods would allow me one simple ask for Week 7, it would be for a stupidly fun performance from Ja’Tavion Sanders.

He was the Panthers’ TE1 before going down with an injury in Week 3. And he returns this week against the Jets, who are allowing 1 TD per game (1st) and 16.2 FPPG (5th) to TEs so far this season.

Call me a fan of chaos, but wouldn’t it just make sense for all of the “Chubba Hubbard or Rico Dowdle” chatter to be silenced mid-game by a TE that no one even rosters??
